Notre-Dame de Sénanque abbey – Gordes (84)
The Sénanque abbey was founded in 1148 by a Cistercian community, in the heart of the Luberon. The abbey complex, largely of the 12th century, is one of the most important witnesses of the Cistercian golden age.
The former dormitory of the 12th century is currently open to visitors. The community wanted to highlight the place by creating a set of stained glass consistent and adapted to the quality of the building and the spirit of the site. The diagnosis of the rosette of the dormitory revealed important disorders in the masonry, making restoration work essential. The revision of the adjacent roofs has been done, access to the rose is only possible through the roof of the store.
The project was to restore the dormitory rose and create stained glass windows for the entire dormitory.
