Résidence Diplomatique Dar-Al-Kamila - Tunis (Tunisie)

Master plan and restoration - emergency works

Built in the late eighteenth century for Mohamed El-Mestiri, the original building follows the traditional organization of this type of residences. Residence of the Consul General of France since 1857, various enlargements were realized until the middle of the 20th century. Dar Al-Kamila is one of the rare palaces of La Marsa to survive in the 21st century, and never to have lost its residential function.

The restoration enhances the site as a witness to the palace complex of La Marsa.

First phase of work: restoration of waterproofing, wooden balconies and wooden floors ; consolidation of the entrance colonnade.
