Lyon - Eglise Saint-Nizier

After two and a half years of work, the restoration of the south aisle of the adjoining side chapels and the mosaics in the crypt of Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon was inaugurated. The city of Lyon, together with the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône Alpes continued the work begun in the church in the 1870s.

Saint-Nizier Church, a major example of flamboyant Gothic architecture and the historic parish church of the merchants and bourgeosie of the city of Lyon, has thus undergone a conservation restoration, revealing its architecture, sculpture, paintings stained glass wndows and decoration of great quality.

In its day, in the second half of the 17th century, Lyon City Hall was considered one of the finest expressions of innovation in France.

Thanks to the comprehensive approach wisely commissioned today by the City of Lyon's Property Department, the challenge will be to maintain this overall coherence by removing superimposed elements and restoring the original harmony between the building and its function, modern science, art and the modernity of our era.

Lyon - Parc de la Tête d'Or - Petites Serres

Launch of the Petites Serres construction project, which will house the tropical biome collections of the City of Lyon Botanical Garden by spring 2027.

Saint-Rémy de Provence - Eglise Saint Martin

The restoration of the nave and transept crossing of the Saint-Martin collegiale church in Saint-Rémy de Provence is nearing completion. The town of Saint-Rémy de Provence has planned the next phase for this autumn, it will be the turn of the north aisle to be restored to its former glory.

The companies involved worked to bring light back into this neoclassical building on the bicentenary of its construction.

Buvette Cachat - Evian-Les-Bains - Restoration of the covered-enclosure

A symbol of the heyday of Evian's spa industry, the Buvette Cachat is a unique example of wooden architecture combining Art Nouveau style and regional influences.

The town of Evian initiated the project for its rebirth under the supervision of the RL&A agency. Restoration of the closed roof was completed in May 2024, and is the subject of a publication in Monumental magazine.

Work to restore a wing that no longer exists, in strict compliance with its historic layout, is underway and will be completed in autumn 2025.

In parallel, restoration of the interiors will begin in spring 2025 and continue into 2026.

Vichy - Restauration de la galerie du Parc des Sources

The restoration of Vichy's Parc des Sources continues. Focus on the restoration of the Art Nouveau galleries that encircle the park over a length of 700m.

Château de la Colline Saint-Eutrope

Work to restore and enhance the Château on Saint-Eutrope hill began in january 2024. Work is currently underway on the 14th century north curtain wall. By lowering the base of the wall more than two metres of elevation have been restored.

The company is currently preparing the restoration ands reassembly wor.
The mason is clearing the inner facings of the curtain wall and preparing the footings. Tests to clean the masonry have been validated dans repointing tests are being adapted using local unscreened sand, closer to the original mortar. 

Reassembly plans are currently being drawn up, based on orthophotographs taken after the wall bases have been excavated.

Collégiale Saint-Martin

Work to restore the interior of the collegiate church of Saint-Martin in Saint Remy de Provence got under way at the end of May 2024. The contractors have set up the base camp and are beginning to erect the scaffolding. The liturgical furnishings have been removed protected and stored on site for the duration of the works. The organ is being partially dismantled and protected. The 7 month firm works package covers the transept and the last two bays of the nave of this 19th century collegiate church. The schedule provides for a first stage of cleaning and restoration of the facings from the end of August.

Le chantier du Parc des Sources à Vichy

The Parc des Sources in Vichy will be a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021 and has been a listed historic monument since 1994. Since its creation in 1812 at the request of Emperor Napoleon Ier, it has undergone a number of transformations in line with the developement of the spa town. The project to restaure the Parc des Sources aims to breathe new life into this exceptional heritage, an expression of the wild, romatice park inherited from the Enlightenment.
The first phase of restoration word was inaugurated on 21 June this year and residents and visitors alike can now rediscover the park and stroll its paths once again. The overall work on the Parc des Sources is continuing with restoration of the perimeter gallery, the two shopping kiosks and the bandstand.

Statue équestre de Louis XIV

The bronze equestrian statue of Louis XIV was created by the sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot in 1825.

The Metropole of Lyon decided to take charge of the removal and restoration of the statue of Louis XIV and its base, due to the urgent need to intervene in view of their deterioration.

After 9 months of renovation, the equestian statue of Louis XIV, a symbol of the city of Lyon is back on the Place Bellecour.

Work around the building will continue until 22 may 2024.

Eglise St-Nizier

Built in the 14th century, Saint-Nizier church in Lyon's 2nd arrondissement is a major building in the flamboyant gothic style and a historic parish church for the city's merchantes and bourgeoisie. It has been protected as a Historic Monument since the first list was drawn up in 1840.
Since the 1970s, extensive work has been carried out on the roof enclosure, nave and transepts to ensure the conservation and enhancement of this exceptional heritage.
A restoration programme has been set up by the City of Lyon to ensure the long term preservation of this religious heritage owned by the municipality.
the aim to restore the south aisle of the chruch and its 5 side chapels, as well as the mosaics in the crypt.
The work involves the facings, painted decorations, stained glass windows, altars and altarpieces, mosaics, wooden furniture, chapel raillings and lighting.

Casino de Thonon-les-Bains

The Thonon-les-Bains casino was built in 1905 as part of the developement of the spa park. Its architecture is a harmonious blend of monumental classical architecture, Art Nouveau influences and elements of wooden architecture giving this convivial venue a prestigious yet warm atmospher.

The town of Thonon-les-Bains, under the project management of RL&A Architectes, wanted to carry out an ambitious renovation of this emblematic building of its spa heritage in order to recreate a place of conviviality in keeping with its original purpose. The conversion will also restore the building's original facadees which help to integrate it into its landscaped surroundings.
